Milan's England defender Walker has surgery on broken elbow

England right-back Kyle Walker, who made a loan move to AC Milan from Manchester City in January, has undergone surgery on a fractured right elbow, the Italian club said on Tuesday.
"AC Milan can confirm that Kyle Walker sustained a fracture in his right elbow today (Tuesday)," AC Milan said in a statement.
"To ensure better healing and optimise recovery time, the player underwent surgery in Milan. The operation went perfectly to plan. Kyle will begin rehabilitation immediately."
The 34-year-old former Tottenham and Sheffield United player joined Milan in January until the end of the season in a deal that could become permanent in the summer.
Walker endured a difficult campaign as City captain and had not started a game since their derby loss to Manchester United on December 15.
He ended his long association with City, whom he joined from Tottenham in 2017, after winning six Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League under Pep Guardiola.
Last season's Serie A runners-up, 19-times Italian league winners Milan are ninth in the table, nine points off the Champions League places, with eight games left this season.
